Terms and labels

Purpose: align staff on one vocabulary so help desk and printed procedures match the on-screen words.

Who can use this

Trainers, new teachers, and students with device access.

Term	Plain meaning
Dashboard	Home after sign-in; links to major areas.
Item	One row in inventory (a costume, prop, score set, and so on).
Tag / ID	Your program’s label or barcode for quick lookup.
Status	Where the item is in its life (Available, On Loan, and so on).
Checkout	Recording that someone took physical items for a show or class.
Check-in	Recording that items came back.
Production	A show or concert for which you reserve and track pieces.
Sharing	Optional links between schools so another site can view (or request loans from) your catalog, per policy.
Loan request	A formal ask to borrow a specific item for a date range, with messages between schools.

Update this table when marketing or the product renames a major area.
