Dashboard overview
Purpose: orient you to the main screen after sign-in so you can find inventory, checkout, sharing, and music features without hunting.
Who can use this
Signed-in users. What you see depends on your role and which modules your organization enabled (drama, music, and so on).
Steps
- After you sign in, note the left navigation (or top menu on small screens). Sections often include Inventory, Checkout / Productions, Sharing & Loans, Music, Reports, and Settings.
- Open Inventory (or your program’s first tab) to browse items your facility owns.
- Use Productions or Checkout when you need to reserve or hand items to cast or crew at show time.
- Use Sharing & Loans when your district shares inventory between schools—browse partner sites and send loan requests when your administrator enabled it.
Expected result
You always have a clear path “home” from the logo or Dashboard link. Pages you are not allowed to use simply do not appear, instead of showing an error.
What happens next
- Managing items for create, edit, and status.
- Searching and filtering for large lists.
Common problems
- “I do not see Music” (or Drama) — your school may not license that module, or your role may not include it; see an admin.
- Too many clicks — use searching and filtering and saved views where the app offers them.
